The overall objective of the NIDA Training Program in Drug Abuse Research at The University of Chicago is to provide predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees with a comprehensive educational and research experience that leads to a distinguished career in drug abuse research. Research opportunities in drug abuse are available in a number of Departments, including:

- Anesthesia and Critical Care
- Human Genetics
- Neurobiology
- Neurology
- Psychiatry amd Behavioral Neuroscience
